Benson Sculpture Garden has been a deliberate plan by the citizens of Loveland, CO, USA to create a vibrant arts town in this foothills community. The garden is free and open sunrise to sunset. The garden has an annual competition in August ( where artists show and compete (though I dislike the idea of 'compete' with art). The garden is located at the intersection of 29th and Beech, across the street from the high school. Parking is NOT allowed near the school on school days, but if you just travel north on Beech, there is street parking around the 'bend.' This garden has restroom facilities and many benches to rest and view the art. The signage is both in English and braille for vision impaired visitors. The garden also appears to be wheel chair accesible. I came here to play with my new camera and visit a couple of specific pieces (which I will post in the respective Waymark categories). The artwork ranges from traditional sculptures, many with a western theme, to partial or full nudes to abstract. The collection is growing and there are pieces on the south side of 29th (I just ran out of time).
Along with a peaceful serene setting and a backdrop of the great Rocky Mountains sits Benson Sculpture Garden located at 2908 Aspen Dr, Loveland, Colorado You might stroll through the area to admire current sculpture art on display or to find a perfect spot in the shade and just read a book and relax before the resuming your next adventure. For a very memorable treat, take your family and walk along the paths and amongst the various displays of creative bronze sculptures.Benson Sculpture Garden This sculpture garden is home to the annual Sculpture in the Park show and currently displays approximately 131 unique, fun and imaginative pieces of art on a permanent basis. Some of the items are puzzling, some are true to life, some are humorous and fun, some are very serious. Trying to guess the purpose behind each statue can become a personal or competitive game as you wander. Remember, do not peek at the descriptive marker beside each sculpture until you have taken a very good guess. It is more fun that way and will awaken the imagination. Whether you are a visitor in Loveland, just passing through, or thinking of becoming a resident here, please take the time to visit the park. Anyone who lives here on a permanent basis will tell you that it will be time well spent, and a wonderful place to tell your friends about
