3 Branches ▪ Legislative Branch – Great Compromise – Makes laws – Collects taxes ▪ Judicial Branch – Interprets Constitution and laws ▪ Executive – President – Enforces laws – In charge of the military we now have

Federalists and Anti- Federalists

Federalists ▪ WANTED a stronger Constitution and stronger government. Anti-Federalists ▪ AFRAID of a stronger Constitution/government. ▪ Refused to approve (ratify) the Constitution without the Bill of Rights.

▪ James Madison originally came up with more than 200 suggestions for “rights” that citizens should have. The Constitutional Convention narrowed it down to 10. ▪ List as many amendments in the Bill of Rights that you can.
