Oklahoma Land Rush Music K-8 Vol. 19, No. 4 CD#8-25 By: John Riggio – All Rights Reserved PPT: L. Trewin

At noon on April 22, 1889 The cannon fired and then the race was on. Tens of thousands headed for the land to stake their claims, The land they dared to build their dreams upon.

It was the Oklahoma Land Rush! Filled with adventure and hopes of prosperity. It was the Oklahoma Land Rush! Here they would stake their claim, Here in a land that’s free!

Riding on their horses, now they sped across the miles, A journey with the promise of free land. A place where they could settle, build a home, and raise their kids, A golden Opportunity at hand.

It was the Oklahoma Land Rush! Filled with adventure and hopes of prosperity. It was the Oklahoma Land Rush! Here they would stake their claim, Here in a land that’s free!

Now they’ve found this lovely space with water, trees and grass; The perfect place, the one they still call home. They love this land of open space and open sky Above where Buffalo, and even Deer can roam

It was the Oklahoma Land Rush! Filled with adventure and hopes of prosperity. It was the Oklahoma Land Rush! Here they would stake their claim, Here in a land that’s free!

Land that’s free! LAND! (yell!)
