Mobile Fitness Evaluation 15 July 2013

Overview Vision Benefit Events Execution

Vision The Montana RRB MFT The Montana National Guard would evaluate the student athletes across Montana. This evaluation would appeal to the High School and College coaches at all levels. This new standard of testing would allow them to accurately rank athletes across the state.

Benefit to MT ARNG Benefit Allows the MT Army National Guard to work with Student athletes in a competition. This allows for friendly competition for both schools and individual athletes. This would allow college coaches to view athletes accurate fitness and athletic abilities. This would also give high school coaches the ability to track progress of their players.

Events The events are to parallel with the NFL combine giving coaches a standard of evaluation. We would test the following events 1.The Shuttle Run 2.Bench Press 3.Vertical Jump 4.40 Yard Dash 5.Broad jump This standard of testing would allow for a fair playing field of each competitor.

Shuttle Run The shuttle run is used primarily for evaluating quickness and ease of change-of-direction ability. This assessment will be done on Astroturf and timed by Zybek automatic timers. The athlete will start facing laterally run 5 yards in one direction touch the line run back across the start line and continue for 5 more yards, touching the other end line and exploding back through the start/finish line.

Bench Press The bench press is an exercise that will help determine the upper body strength and stamina. The bench press will be a set amount of weight, 225, 185 and 135 dependent on the level of ability each athlete. They will complete as many reps as possible correctly. Standard; each athlete will be graded by a specific grader provided by the MT ARNG. This person will ensure that each rep is performed correctly and more importantly monitor safety.

Vertical Jump The vertical jump is an exercise that will determine the muscular strength and anaerobic power of the leg muscles. Standard; each athlete will be given opportunities to practice on the Vertex vertical jump and then be tested on the laser guided test. Each athlete will be tested using the NO-step vertical jump. This ensures that each participant is graded evenly.

40 yard dash This is a sprint that is used to evaluate the overall speed of each athlete. Standard: each athlete will be tested on Astroturf using ZYBEC automatic timers. They will be given a 20 yard and 40 yard time. This will be evaluated by using hand down on the timer and sprinting through the finish line.

Standing Long Jump (Broad) The vertical jump is an exercise that will determine the muscular strength and anaerobic power of the leg muscles. Standard; each athlete will be be tested on the Gill certified long jump mat.

Execution The mobile Combine would be conducted by the Montana Army National Guard Marketing Department. This will be conducted a neutral site to encourage maximum participation. The point of contact on this program will be or can be reached at
