STUDENT ACTIVITIES

What do we do?  Student Activities hosts programs and supports events for the entire student body  We hope to make your college experience as a student as memorable and enjoyable as possible  We host fun, cultural and entertaining activities as well as weeklong university events for special occasions.  We provide advisement to nearly 300 dynamic student organizations who enhance campus culture every day with their ideas, events and leadership.

Welcome Week  A week long event that helps students get involved on campus and meet new people  Events include  Templefest  Choose Your Own Adventure  Fresh Serve  100 foot banana split in Mitten Hall

Templefest  Takes place on August 24 th and 25 th  Student organizations are set up all throughout Liacouras Walk and Bell Tower  Find out information and get involved

Free Food and Fun Fridays  Every Friday 10pm – 1am  Free food and games  Activities include:  Bollywood  Latino Heritage Month celebration  Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader  Bingo Carnival  Spades/Poker Tournaments  Henna tattoos  Open mic  Ballroom Dancing  We give out prizes and giveaways to our winners!

Philly Connections  The Philly Connections program provides Temple students with discounted tickets to Philadelphia's events  Events range from special exhibits, sporting events, concerts, Broadway shows and more  All you need is your TU ID  Some events that we went to last year are 76ers vs. Boston Celtics, “RENT” the Musical, Philadelphia Phillies vs. Milwaukee Brewers, Philadelphia Flyers vs. Montreal Canadiens, “A Streetcar Named Desire”  All tickets were sold at $10 each

Memorable Moments  Each month students can sign up to go out to a cultural restaurant in the Philadelphia area to get a taste of their food and learn a little about their culture  Up to 40 students at a time can sign up for this free event and you can go once a semester  Places we’ve visited in the past are Ireland, Poland, Turkey, Nigeria, Italy, and Brazil

Homecoming  Homecoming is a weeklong event of activities including  Pep Rally  Concert  Homecoming Game  Homecoming Pageant  Homecoming Party

Spring Fling  An exciting celebration of the commencement of Spring and the end of the semester  Highlights student organizations, promotes the Temple community and showcases student talent  Take a look around at all the student organizations and vendors and see how you can get involved  Plenty of activities to take part in. Last year’s events included:  NPHC Step Show  Free Food  Games and Prizes  Laser Tag

Movies at “The Reel”  The Reel, located in the bottom of the Student Center, shows movies that have just left the theaters  For only $2 you can go watch a movie in a theater and get some snacks  The Reel also hosts free movie showings for new movies coming out

Greek Life  35 recognized Greek Organizations on campus  Four Pillars  Leadership  Scholarship  Brotherhood/Sisterhood  Service  Membership requirement vary between councils and organizations

Student Organizations  If you are looking to get involved we have over 200 student organizations to get involved in  You name it, we probably have it  And if we don’t, you can start it yourself!

Service Immersion Program  The vision of the immersion program is to actively engage Temple University students in meaningful experiences that foster cultural awareness, global understanding, and social responsibility through learning, service and reflection.  Past trips have been to El Paso, TX, Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota, St. Thomas Parish of Jamaica, Philadelphia, PA, and Camden NJ
