A Patient’s Eye View Mike Johnston a m ember of the Patients’ Group and a friend of Cropredy Surgery

Lynne Jones, Practice Manager Cropredy Surgery is a dispensing practice in a semi- rural area near Banbury, north Oxfordshire Patients on our listc3420 Registered for Patient Accessc 750 (22% pop) Registered for Records Viewerc 230 (29% P/A) Average age using Patient Access60.8 years

Service Improvements Ordering repeat Px – safer, quicker and reduces processing Appointments booked/cancelled in real time Improved consultations – patients discussing treatment after viewing results Fewer phone calls - leaves lines freer s – filtered by receptionist to the right person

Records Viewer In use since 2010 after consultations in practice and with Patients’ Group Slow take up, no problems so far GP involvement in administration very limited Alternative for those not wanting SCR Local secondary care clinicians keen

What do I want now? More sophisticated appointments’ booking Better log-in arrangements Electronic registration with consent forms etc for records viewing Terminology links from RV Health messages tailored to the individual

What’s in it for me? Better service – happier patients Improved consultations – happier GPs Fewer phone calls – happier receptionists Slicker repeat Px ordering – happier dispensers Happy patients and staff – happier Practice Manager! More details from
