Presentation transcript:

“No man, woman or child should have to go hungry while stores, restaurants and other food suppliers are tossing good food into our landfills.” George Bagaco, Founder

Our Mission Every day we bring fresh nutritious food that might otherwise not be used from food producing organizations to hungry people in Halton to help them eat and live better.

The Situation in Halton Region 7.1% of residents are living below the poverty line –Mothers on assistance, low-income seniors, recent immigrants 8.5% of residents reported some level of food insecurity –A very basic healthy diet for a family of 4 costs $133 per week (Halton Region Health Department) Poverty trends are deepening because of the gap between cost of living and government support

Food Banks in Halton There are 9 food banks in Halton, serving 10,000 families in a population of 350,000 25% of food banks report a declining ability to provide sufficient food for their clients (Ontario Association of Food Banks)
