Les Verbes Réfléchis Some Important Points These are actions one does to him/ herself. I brush my own hair, I wash my own hands, I get myself out of bed in the morning. Each sentence must have both a subject pronoun and a reflexive pronoun. The actual verb itself is conjugated like the regular -er, -ir, and -re verbs! Je me réveille à six heures et demie. Tu t’habilles à huit heures du matin. Be careful: Je dîne à sept heures et quart.

Practice: Fill in the blank with the appropriate reflexive pronoun and conjugation of the verb! Elle ____________ tard. (se lever) Je ___________ chaque jour. (se baigner) Mon frère ___________ pour aller à l'école. (se réveiller) Nous ___________ la figure. (se laver) Ils ____________ le matin. (se doucher) On _____________ maintenant. (se baigner) Elle ___________ pour aller au concert. (s'habiller) Nous ____________ (s'habiller)

03.03 J'ai Mal à: Avoir mal à J'ai mal au ventre. The most important thing to be able to do when you are sick is to tell people where it hurts so that they may help you. In French, we use the expression "avoir mal à." You conjugate the verb avoir according to the pattern learned previously and then add the body part of where it hurts. J'ai mal au ventre. Il a mal aux oreilles Vous avez mal à la tête. **Don’t forget** à + le = au à + la = à la à + les = aux

Practice! I have a headache ____________________________. He has a headache ____________________________. We have a headache ___________________________. Her foot hurts _______________________________. My feet hurt ________________________________. My foot hurts _______________________________. His back hurts _____________________________. Your back hurts? ____________________________?
