Navy League Cadets 9 Corps 251 Cadets Royal Canadian Sea Cadets 17 Corps 577 Cadets
Let’s start with a 5 Year plan. That’s one small step at a time.
Together we will bring our numbers up. The Navy League will focus on having 350 Cadets in Alberta. Sea Cadets will focus on having 850 Cadets in Alberta. How you ask? Here’s how...
In September we will have 7 flourishing NL Cadet Corps in Alberta. As long as everyone's numbers stay the same, we will need to recruit 99 Cadets in 5 years. This means 20 Cadets (99/5) per year. Divide 7 (for the remaining Corps) into 20 and that equals approximately 3 Cadets per Corps a year.
In September we will have 17 Sea Cadet Corps in Alberta. If your numbers remain the same you will need to recruit 273 Cadets. This is an increase of approximately 55 Cadets each year. That makes approximately 4 Cadets per year per Corps In September we will have 17 Sea Cadet Corps in Alberta. If your numbers remain the same you will need to recruit 273 Cadets. Start by showing citizens our Cadets. How? Awareness Recruiting Advertizing Keep in mind that although these things are completely different...you will need to use all 3 in order for recruiting to become possible.
The Cadets themselves Officers/Volunteers Advertizing Web Site Facebook Inviting the media out Parades/City Functions Recruitment Booths (malls, fairs, etc)
Schools Advertizing (newspapers, bill boards, etc) The Cadets Officers/Volunteers Facebook Web Site Media Parades Bring a Friend Night
Newspaper/Media Cadets/Officers/Volunteers The Web Parades Recruitment Booths, etc, etc. By now you can see the similarities that all 3 share, as well as the difference between each item. As many of you know Advertizing is a hit and miss and must be done properly in order for results to happen.
COKESPRITE
KDSINGLES
NAVY LEAGUE SEA CADETS
The reason Coca-Cola, Kraft and thousands upon thousands of companies succeed in their advertizing due to advertizing their products separately. Too many items in one advertisement will result in more confusion for the consumer. These consumers may be our future Navy League of Canada members...don’t start them off confused! We need to Advertize each Corps individually for results to start taking place.
Is this possible?
Involve everyone (Cadets, Officers, Branch, and Parents) whenever possible. Don’t make them all about money!!! Include fun and creative ideas to make it enjoyable! (karaoke night, silent auction, funny money casino, wake-a-thon, mini carnivals, etc.) Remember...even if you only make $50.00 that is fifty more than you had yesterday and it was enjoyable.
As the President of Alberta, these are my thoughts and ideas for our future success. The song by Garth Brooks called “The River” says, “I’ll never reach my destination if I never try. So I will sail my vessel ‘til the river runs dry.” This means we will continue to succeed because like the river, we will flow towards our horizon, find a new beginning and once again become prosperous! Thank you Alberta!
