 If word ends in: n, s or vowel …  Stress is on the second-to-last syllable.  Examples: comen, perros, profesora

 If word ends in a… consonant (non-vowel) ▪ other than n or s  Stress is on the last syllable.  Examples: verdad, papel, beber

If the word breaks rule 1, it needs an accent mark. - comí -miércoles -estación
