Building Process  Each habit lays the foundation for the next.  Habit 1 – Be proactive – Do not wait for the next person.  Habits 2 & 3 – State mission and set forth plans for attainment  Habit 4 – Create conditions for mutually beneficial results  Habit 5 – Become aware of others needs and strengths

Habit 6 - Synergize  Synergy is about valuing differences  Surround yourself with people who offset your weaknesses  Work together to create solutions better than anyone could create on their own  Get the most from the team by recognizing each participants unique strengths

Advantage of valuing differences  Act with courage and consideration  Direct and honest  Reputation as respectful  Desire success for others  Strong self-image

How do you synergize?  Define problem or opportunity  Seek 1 st to understand  Seek to be understood  Create new options and ideas  Determine the best solution
