CAMPSITE SELECTION Check whether you need a booking / permission to camp Arrive at least 2 hours before sunset

PITCHING THE TENT Flat sheltered shady spot close to water (but not too close!) Anticipate the wind Watch out for branches in danger of falling Higher ground avoids low-lying water and colder temperatures Consider other campers Watch out for bugs

LEAVE NO TRACE Keep your site clean - cleanup as you go along - don't wait till you are packing up Consider the environment Use established trails and campsites Don't build fires Don't use a stove in your tent!!!

HUT ETIQUETTE Sign the hut book - on arrival and departure Pay all required fees Respect other occupants - keep tidy and quiet Leave boots outside Report damage Extinguish any fires Clean up - rather leave the hut cleaner than you found it Leave at least as much firewood as you found there
