QUESTION 3 (20 marks) You are advised to spend 1 hour on this question. Choose a stand (FOR or AGAINST) and write an argumentative essay on the topic given below. You should state your thesis statement and include at least 3 supporting points inclusive of 1 counterargument. You are to use at least 3 of the 4 articles given to support your points. You have to demonstrate an ability to summarise, quote, paraphrase and synthesize. Your essay should be no more than 450 words. Counselling and not physical punishment should be used to enforce discipline. State your stand.

Prepare for this exam…many students think they can just “wing it”! Prepare the sort of language you need for argumentation. Focus on the revision areas mentioned earlier.
