HAN TF SEP 1.x/2.0 Whitepaper Three key recommendations: 1.A cyber-security review should be conducted by the SGIP Cyber Security Working Group (CSWG) of SEP 1.0 and SEP The SGIP HAN TF should be tasked by the SGIP Governing Board to provide specific migration recommendations for SEP 1.0 and SEP 1.1 with SEP SEP 1.0 and/or SEP 1.1 should be recognized as a transitional specification until such time as SEP 2.0 is readily available. Version 6 of consolidated paper was approved by the HAN TF and other interested parties to be communicated to the Governing Board (Vote 22 Yes, 0 No, 2 Abstain) 8

FERC Request for Comments Response to FERC Technical Conference on SG Interoperability Standards (RM ) – Formalized response from GB and Plenary Leadership nearly complete – Supports CoS process and reinforces comments made by Dr. Arnold on January 31 at FERC First related public document was from CPUC- some controversy NIST’s intent was always to recommend standards to FERC. The SGIP is one of the tools NIST uses to analyze standards. The “first five” likely would have been recommended by the SGIP. 9
© 2011 EnerNex. All Rights Reserved. NIST Framework and Roadmap for Smart Grid Interoperability Standards Release 2.0 NIST is seeking SGIP input for the Release 2.0 document. There will be two opportunities for SGIP input: – First, discussions will be held beginning at the Nashville SGIP meeting (March 29-31, 2011). This input will be incorporated into the draft 2.0, which will then be posted for public comment via Federal Register Notice by early summer. – Following the public comment period, further SGIP input will be sought on the comments received. The intent is to complete the process and publish release 2.0 this year, by the early fall. 10

Zigbee SEP 2.0 v. 0.7 The ZigBee Alliance has just released updates to the ZigBee Smart Energy version 2.0 materials last week for another round of public comments. The updated materials include the draft version 0.7 level of the ZigBee Smart Energy Application Profile and the Technical Requirements Document, along with public comments and resolution from the last round. The 0.7 level is known as the "implementable" level and is the step before the final release version. The documents are available at and by clicking on “version 2.0 documents” on the left hand side menu. 11
