The PDSA Dickin Medal The PDSA Dickin Medal is known as the Victoria Cross for animals. Maria Dickin, CBE decided to award the bravery of animals. The PDSA Dickin Medal was created in 1943 and has been awarded to dogs, pigeons, horses and a cat!
