The Czech Republic, France, Hungary, Poland, Bulgaria and Slovenia - participating in the Comenius Lifelong Learning Project entitled ”A Bridge To The Students’ Active Life” All the partner countries have carried out investigation and research on the most desired and prestige jobs, and professions in their regions and countries. We have also compiled data on the necessary characteristics, skills and knowledge, which one has to possess for working in all these desirable jobs; where students can be educated and trained for the jobs. The presentation provides authentic and useful information and it is very interesting to see the differences between the countries. We would like to thank every partner for their cooperation.

Slovenia Manager (It is a very tipical job.) Education: After the high school you must do 2 or 4 years at university (or somethiong similar). Why to study that? Most of students think that it is an easy way to get a lot of money. Lawyer Education and training: 4 to 5 yeras after high schools (one of 3 universities in Slovenia) You must get experiences which take up to 4 or more years (int hat time candidates work with lawyers). After that they have to do a special exam to get a lawyer’s licence.
Slovenia Doctor (or dentist) Education and training: 6 years after high school (in 2 universities in Slovenia). Specialization takes more years, but it isn’t necessary to do. Architect Education and training: 4 to 5 years after high school (in 1 university in Slovenia). After that You are full licenced architect (no obligatory practice). Teacher Education and training: 4 years after high school (1 university in Slovenia). You have to do several hours of teaching.
Bulgaria In the region of Dobrich, Bulgaria a survey has been carried out about the most desired and prestige professions among the different ages. The survey has showed the following results. In Dobrich region, it is prestige to work in the field of economy and management, law, tourism and medicine. Young people prefer also Information technology. Desired professions are those with financial security.
Bulgaria In Bulgaria people consider as prestige lawyers, IT specialists, politicians, and managers. Professions in the field of education, agriculture and engineering have low authority and respect in the society. Financial security is the most important factor for one job to be popular.
