Telephone Buttons & Features

GREEN EXT Primary extension, for incoming and outgoing calls SECOND LINE Incoming calls will roll to this key when your primary line is busy. You can place your first call on HOLD, then answer the second line. Outgoing calls may be placed from either line key. The 3903 can be configured for 2 lines.

THIRD LINE Incoming calls will roll to this key when both your primary and second line are busy. You can place both calls on HOLD, then answer the third line. Outgoing calls may be placed from either line key. The 3904 can be configured for up to 6 line keys as desired.

SHIFT Scrolls to the secondary feature assigned to upper 6 keys (or 2 for 3903) on either side of the display. If there are no specific requirements for these buttons in your environment, they will be programmed as single number autodial keys. Use the Shift key to access them.

HOLD With a caller on the line, press the HOLD button to place them on hold. The line key will flash. To return to the call, lift the handset and press the line key again. GOOD-BYE Press this button to disconnect your call. This is useful with handsfree or speaker calls. HEADSET Activates headset operation if a compatible headset is connected.

OPTIONS Use the OPTIONS key to access customizable features of your telephone. The following features are available. Refer to Nortel Ref Guide for details. Call Log On/Off Change feature key labels Change ring tone Adjust Volume Press QUIT key when finished, or your phone will not place or receive calls.

CONFERENCE You can connect up to 6 parties on a conference call: With the first party on the line, press the CONFERENCE key Dial the phone number (8 if outside call), and wait for the party to answer. Press the CONNECT key to join all parties on the call. SPEED CALL LIST Allows a customized list of your 10 frequently dialed numbers. To program (without lifting handset), press SpcCtrl key Dial the one digit code for this speed call list entry Dial the phone number you wish to store (remember 8 for outside calls) Press DONE To place a call using the Speed Call list: Lift the handset. INTERCOM Recipient telephone will ring with a distinctive tone. Lift the handset to answer the intercom call. The 2 digit code and name of the calling intercom group member will appear on the display. This feature is optional and requires setting up the phones that can intercom to each other.

AUTODIAL The AUTODIAL key lets you program a single phone number on the key. The number is dialed when you press it.
