AN OVERVIEW OF STATE INNOVATION COUNCIL DELHI GOVT. OF NCT OF DELHI

STATE INNOVATION COUNCIL Delhi State Innovation Council (SInC) was constituted under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary on 17 th September, The first meeting of Delhi State Innovation Council was held on

OBJECTIVES OF SInC Support the Govt. of NCT of Delhi to promote innovation in Delhi. Encourage young talent and local universities, colleges, medium and small scale industries (MSME), R&D institutes. Map opportunities for innovation in NCT of Delhi.

Identify and reward talent in innovation and disseminate success stories. Organise seminars, lectures, workshops on innovation. Promote and drive innovation in Governance and Service Delivery. To prepare an Innovation Roadmap up to 2020 for NCT of Delhi.

WAY FORWARD 1.The Industries Department has constituted a committee on for preparation of the Project Document for establishment of MSME Innovation Clusters in NCT of Delhi. The Committee will submit the “Project Document” within a period of one month. The terms and reference of the Committee are as under :

a)To identify and recommend the areas for innovation. b)To identify and recommend the location/site for the establishment of the MSME Industry Innovation Centre. c)To prepare a draft “Project Document” for the establishment of the MSME Industry Innovation Centre.

2. Delhi Jal Board has prepared an action plan for Recycling and Reuse of treated waste water. Main features of the action plan are as under : a)A 23 MLD plant at Kapashera has been commissioned with improved treatment standard so as to enable utilisation of treated water around international airport and for irrigation in the farm houses. b)A 10 MLD tertiary treatment plant is being constructed at Okhla STP for bus washing and construction purposes.

c)In collaboration with Singapore Government, a 40 MGD tertiary treatment plant of very high standard is also planned at coronation Pillar. d)All the new STPs under construction or proposed under rehabilitation are designed for high standard of treated effluent with further disinfection for reducing coliform. e)Treated Effluent is also for Rs.7 per kiloliter for use in non portable requirements.

3.For business promotion through barrier free framework, the Industry Department will prepare a blue print consisting the amendments required in existing rules & regulations, procedures and system of scrutiny. 4.A committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of Pr. Secretary (IT) with Commissioner (Industries) as Co-chairperson for preparation of a blue print / Action Plan for setting up of University Technology Incubation Centre in Delhi. The Vice Chancellor of DTU & Directors of NSIT and IIIT are the members. The committee will submit its action plan within one month.

5.Environment Department, GNCTD will prepare a blue print / action plan regarding “Control of Air Pollution due to Vehicle Exhaust” in Delhi. 6.Information & Technology Department, GNCTD will prepare a blue print / action plan for use of modern and latest information on communication technology to make Delhi a Smart City.
