Economic and Environmental Implications of Alternative Fuel use and Regulations in the Mountain Plains Region Includes the Following States  ND, SD, MT, CO, UT, WY Analysis includes:  Benefit/cost analysis for switching from traditional to alternative fuels  Regional trends and key factors affecting alternative fuel usage  Impacts of alternative fuel policy and the effects on transportation sectors  Transit and municipal fleet case studies

Study of the Highway Impacts Due to the Location of Ethanol Facilities Specifically focuses on the proposed Ethanol & Biodiesel plant at Spiritwood, ND – which will be part of the proposed Spiritwood Energy Park  100 MGY Ethanol production  35 MGY Biodiesel production  50 Megawatt coal electric facility Analysis includes:  Estimation of the corn basis change as a result of plant location  Estimation of changes in production due to basis change  Modeling commodity flow using a GIS/Cube network analysis  Estimation of the impacts of the incremental traffic on the state, federal, and county systems surrounding the proposed facility
