Geant4 Workshop 2004 Maria Grazia Pia, INFN Genova Background Geant4 training was raised as a crucial issue for Geant4 at the 1 st Geant4 Workshop of the post-RD44 era –See E. Daly’s and MGP’s talks at Geant4 Workshop 1999 (at ESTEC) The need of a coordinated, collaboration-wide effort to provide a coherent set of training material triggered the development of a Geant4 Training Kit and the organization of Geant4 courses by the Geant4 Collaboration

Geant4 Workshop 2004 Maria Grazia Pia, INFN Genova Geant4 Training We lack a coordinated Geant4 Training plan –Training is left to spontaneous improvisation –No reference for the users wishing to learn Geant4 Agree and coordinate a Geant4 Collaboration training plan –Regular courses –Dates and locations fixed well in advance Our training material is scattered and outdated –The Training Kit is not maintained –There is confusion about the reference training material –Some training material is not in a generally usable format Update and maintain the reference Training Kit material –Identify a responsible team for the maintenance of training material –Coordinate the team Do we have a common vision for Geant4 training?
