European Network for Mental Health Promotion – Training & Implementation Support  Originates from EU concerns on mental health: High and rising rates of mental illness Problems in treatment delivery Move from treatment to prevention and promotion The development of the settings approach The Mental Health Pact  A group of (mostly) workplace based organisations become interested in mental health issues: BAUA (D), WRC (Irl), THL (Fi), ERSI (Es), FRK (Au), eWorx (Gr) - experts support from different fields e.g. Paul Baart for workplace  Life course approach & multiple languages

The idea for ENMHP Need for development of a range of tools in relation to mental health promotion: Toolkit of methods and approaches to MHP (Google search on ‘mental health promotion tools’ yields 14,500,0000 results, PRoMenPol) a)Training for professionals in MHP (only few courses targeted at specific setting) b)Support for non-professionals in MHP (only few supports for teachers, managers or elder care workers)
