 2014 Activities  2015 Focus

 Construction Inspection Scope of Work ◦ SOL issued new SOW effective 1/1/14  New “Minimum Experience and Training” requirements  Increases mileage/lodging allowance  Maintained 37.5 hour/week  Resulted in positive changes for Publication 93 ◦ Several concerns presented by ACEC/PA and PennDOT ◦ Follow up meetings to make another round of changes  “Or higher” to be added, as well as another MET for TCI-1’s  Will require TCI/TA Training for most TA’s and TCI-1’s  Another SOL will be issued to update agreements for 2015

 Inspector Tracking/Updated Forms ◦ Highly unfortunate events occurred that required strong PennDOT response ◦ Little initial outreach to ACEC/PA, but has improved ◦ Circumstances required change in time/expense tracking ◦ New weekly “Consultant Inspector Hours and Mileage Log” issued via SOL , effective 11/1/14 ◦ PennDOT has advertised eight CI agreements in District 6-0 requiring “Automated Vehicle Location” (AVL) Global Positionning System (GPS)

 Workforce Development ◦ PennDOT Workgroup formed, invited ACEC/PA ◦ Includes contracting associations and the PA Turnpike ◦ PennDOT drafted an “Employee Development Plan” based on feedback from a statewide Quality Survey ◦ ACEC/PA presented “White Paper”  Acknowledge the consultants role with training  Soliciting desire from career and technology schools to re-implement former TA/TCI training programs  Pushing PennDOT to staff more TA’s in the future
