The 2003 season of Cedarcrest Track & Field aka Home Meets! Finally !!

2003 Season Home facility to train and compete. Kingco records (Girls 1-5 & Boys 1-5). Boys are State Academic Team Champions for 1 st time at First year of Spring Break camp. Third year of T&F Prom Queen. Second time in three years of T&F Prom King.

Survive to compete another day Kingco League Championships Kelly – Kingco 1600m Champion (Third girl Kingco Champion, sixth overall) Boys 8 th (4 Individuals & 1 Relay placings) Girls 10 th (2 Individuals & 1 Relay placings)

Survive to compete another day SeaKing District Championships Boys 19 th (Pat places twice) Girls 16 th (Kelly places twice)

Star Track 2003 State Meet Three’s Company Kelly placed 7 th at 1600m (Third time placing). Kelly finished 10 th at 3200m.

2003 Records (not counting new javelin) Freshman class records (2 Girls events). Sophomore class records (None set). Junior class records (None set). Senior class records (3 Girls & 1 Boy events). CHS records (2 Girls events).

Class of 2006

Soraya Al-Khoury - Freshman Earned a JV award. Ran the 100m and 200m. Next year – Under 15 secs and 32 secs in each race.

Cody Chappell - Freshman Earned his first Varsity letter. Ran all the distance races and 4x4. Tied 10 th on all-time 3200m list. Next year – League Qualifier at 3200m.

Alyssa Garcia - Freshman Earned her first Varsity letter. Threw the shot and discus. Ran the 1600m and 4x4. Kingco Alternate in the discus. 9 th on all-time discus list. Next year – Stay a Red Wolf!!!

Karen Lawton - Freshman Earned her first Varsity letter. Ran both hurdles, the 400m and 4x4 and did the high jump. League qualifier in 300m hurdles and high jump. Freshman class record in the 300m Hurdles. 3 rd on 300m Hurdle, Tied 3 rd on high jump and 7 th on 100m Hurdle all-time lists. 15 th on Power list. Next year – District qualifier in 300m Hurdles.

Kasey Marshall - Freshman Earned a JV award. Threw the shot and the discus. Next year – 25’ and 75’.

Kenya Marshall - Freshman Earned her first Varsity letter. Did the high jump and ran the 100m, 200m and 4x4. Freshman record in the high jump. League qualifier in the high jump. 2 nd on high jump all-time list. 5 th on 100m all- time list. Next year – Stay healthy enough to compete at Kingco.

Frankie McCaig - Freshman Earned a JV award. Ran the 100m, 200m and 4x2. Next year – Keep working hard and improving just like she did this year.

Aaron Sebenius - Freshman Earned a JV award. Threw the javelin and shot put. Next year – Go for 95’ feet in the javelin.

John White - Freshman Earned a JV award. Ran the 1600m and 3200m and did the pole vault. Next year – Make the Top 10 list in the pole vault.

Class of 2005

Michael Brittain - Sophomore Earned a JV award in first year of T&F. Ran the 1600m and 3200m. Next year – Get rid of that 6 in front of his 1600m p.r.

Pat Bunker - Sophomore Earned a JV award in first year of T&F. Ran the 100m, 200m and 4x4 and did the long jump. Next year – Run the 400m.

Kimmy Drew - Sophomore Earned her second Varsity letter. League qualifier in 100m Hurdles, High jump and triple jump. Also ran 300m Hurdles, 400m, long jump, 4x2 and 4x4. 3 rd on 100m Hurdles, 5 th on 300m Hurdles, 6 th on triple jump and 9 th on long jump all-time lists. Tied 10 th on Power list. Next year – Actually want to train to make herself better.

Matt Hunt - Sophomore Earned his JV award. Threw the shot put and the discus. Next year – Keep on improving to 38’ and 105’

Kim Hunter - Sophomore Earned first Varsity letter. League qualifier in the javelin. Also threw the discus. 6 th on javelin all-time list. 2 nd best with the new javelin. Sophomore record in the javelin, no matter new or old. Freshman best with the new javelin. Next year – Top 8 at Kingco in the javelin.

Tim Lawton - Sophomore Earned a JV award in his first year of T&F. Ran the 110m HH, 300m Hurdles and the 200m. 10 th on 110m HH all-time list. Next year – Make the top 10 all-time list in the 300m Hurdles.

Erin Masterson - Sophomore Earned a JV award in her first year of T&F. Threw the javelin and the shot. 10 th best with the new javelin. Next year – Throw 70’ with the javelin.

Diane McKenney - Sophomore Earned her second Varsity award. District qualifier with the 4x4. League alternate in the 800m. Also ran the 100m, 200m, 400m and 1600m. 4 th on 3200m, 5 th on 800m, 6 th on 1600m and 9 th on 400m Top 10 all-time lists. 17 th on Power list. Next year – Sub 2:30 at 800m.

Brittany Richardson - Sophomore Earned her second Varsity letter. 5 th on long jump all-time list. Also ran the 100m, 200m and 4x2. Next year – 15’ in the long jump and no more week-long vacations.

Class of 2004

Chloe Christman - Junior Earned her third Varsity letter. District qualifier on 4x4 team. Kingco qualifier in the 200m. Also ran the 100m, 400m and did the high jump. 4 th on the 100m, 6 th on the 200m, and 7 th on the 400m all-time lists. Tied 19 th on Power list. Next year – Be like Billy….. 800m!!!!!

Brooke Hellman - Junior Earned her JV award. Ran the 800m, 1600m and 4x4. 7 th on the 3200m and 8 th on the 1600m all- time lists. Next year – Stay healthy for the whole season.

Liz Kather - Junior Earned a JV award in her first year of T&F. Threw the javelin and the discus. 6 th best with new javelin. Next year – Shooting for 80’ in both.

Junwen Law - Junior Earned his second Varsity letter. League qualifier on 4x4 team. Ran the 400m, 800m, 1600m and 3200m and did the pole vault. Tied 7 th on pole vault, 10 th on the 1600m and tied 10 th on the 3200m all-time lists. Next year – Stay healthy enough to qualify for Kingco in the 1600m.

Colin McDonell - Junior Earned his third Varsity letter. League qualifier in the 800m and 4x4 team. Also ran the 100m, 200m and 400m. 5 th on the 800m and tied 8 th on the 400m all- time list. Still holds sophomore record at 800m. Next year – ??

Stu Swenson - Junior Earned his JV award. Threw the shot put and discus. 8 th on discus all-time list. Next year – League qualifier in the shot and discus.

Maika Takanohara - Junior Earned her JV award. Threw the shot, discus and javelin. 5 th best with the new javelin. Next year – Make the top 10 list in the discus.

Matt Warner - Junior Earned his third Varsity letter. League qualifier in the 200m, pole vault and 4x4 team. 3 rd on the 100m, 4 th on the pole vault, Tied 6 th on the 200m and Tied 8 th on the 400m on the all-time lists. Still holds freshman records in the 100m and 200m. Next year – Top 8 at Kingco in the pole vault.

Alicia Bramble - Senior Earned a JV award in her first year of T&F. Main event – 300m Hurdles. Ran the 100m, 200m, 400, 3200m and 4x4. 5 th on 3200m all-time list. Next year – Cosumnes River College in California

Robin Swenson-Healey - Senior Earned a JV award in his first year of T&F. Threw the shot put and the discus. Next year – Bellevue Community College

Vong Ly - Senior Earned a JV award. Threw the shot put, discus and javelin and ran the 100m and 110m HH. Next year - ??

Karley Korshaven - Senior Earned a JV award. Threw the shot and the discus. Next year -

Tate Brammer - Senior Earned his first Varsity letter. Member of Kingco 4x4 team. Main event – 800m. Ran the 100m, 200m, 400, and 1600m. 8 th on 800m all-time list. Next year – Bellevue Community College

Devin Looijen - Senior Earned his first Varsity letter. League qualifier at 300m Hurdles. Also ran the 110m HH, 400m and 4x4. 4 th on 110m HH and 300m H all-time lists. Next year – Be a Purdue Boilermaker.

Jenine Drew - Senior Earned her second Varsity letter. Member of District 4x4 team. Alternate for Kingco 300m Hurdles. Also ran the 100m H, 100m, 200m, and long jump. 7 th on 300m Hurdle, 9 th on 800m, 10 th on 400m all-time lists. Next year – Western Washington University.

Blake Hellman - Senior Earned his second Varsity letter. Ran the 800m, 1600m, 3200m and 4x4. 9 th on 3200m all-time list. Next year – Illinois Institute of Technology

Brian Lee - Senior Earned his second Varsity letter. League competitor at 1600m and 3200m. Ran the 400m, 800m, 4x4 and steeple. 3 rd on 3200m, 5 th on 1600m and 9 th on 800m all-time lists. Tied 20 th on Power list. Next year – Art Institute of Seattle

Billy English - Senior Earned his fourth Varsity letter. District qualifier at 200m. League qualifier at 400m and 4x4. 2 nd on 200m, 3 rd on 100m and 400m, 6 th on 800m, and 8 th on new javelin all-time lists. 6 th on Power list. Next year – Running track somewhere.

Pat Conrick - Senior Earned his fourth Varsity letter. Two time state qualifier (high and triple jump, junior year) Did 11 of 17 events sometime throughout the year. 2 nd on high jump and long jump, 3 rd on triple jump and new javelin, 4 th on 400m, 5 th on 300m Hurdles, 7 th on discus, tied 7 th on pole vault and 10 th on shot put all- time lists. 2 nd on Power list. Frosh, soph and senior records in the high jump. Soph record in triple jump. Next year – Be a decathlete at U.W.

Kelly Ramirez - Senior Earned her fourth Varsity letter. State qualifier in 8 events. State qualifier in the 1600m and 3200m. Kingco qualifier on 4x4 team. School records at 800m, 1600m and 3200m. 5 th on 400m and 8 th on 300m Hurdle all-time list. 4 th on Power list. Holds all four class records at 800m, 1600m and 3200m. Next year – Being a Cougar. Ughh!!

CHS T&F Hall of Fame General requirements: Different from CHS Hall of Fame. State meet placers. Two time state meet qualifiers. Top 10 in six events. League or District Champions. Finish career in good standing.

Things to look forward to in the 2004 season Five-peat for State Academic Title. Core of girl athletes to build upon. Chloe’s 800m debut. Self-contained track and field facility. Continuation of a fifth coach. More Kingco and SeaKing qualifiers. A hail and lightning free Kingco meet. No one being sick.
