Sura Yaseen By Abul Qasim Asadi

Introduction Sura Yaseen is the 36 th sura of the holy Qur’an.This sura is the most important sura in the whole Qur'an as it talks about many things which should be applied in our day to day lives.And also it talks about the signs of life for example :what does this day and night mean? What sign could this be of life. In the first few verses it says guide those whose fathers have not been guided.

Ayah 1-7 Ayah 1-7 is saying that by the Qur’an, Muhammad is indeed one of the prophets who is on the straight way.This Sura Yaseen has been sent down by Allah.For all mankind and especially for those whose fathers have not been guided.

Ayah 8-12 Ayah 8-12 is saying that we{Allah} have put yokes around their necks right upto their chins so that their heads are forced up and they cannot see. In these verses Allah is still talking about the people whose fathers have not been guided.What these verses are basically saying are that Allah has blinded them from the truth. Therefore they are blind to the truth and can never be guided or taken to the straight path.

Ayah In these verses Allah is still talking about the unguided people and is saying how he is recording every deed every action of their lives.So even after they are dead their life deeds still remain so they still HAVE A LIFE.Also Allah is saying how he sent down many messengers to guide them but they simply rejected them by saying you are just like us why should we believe you and sometimes even threatened and threw stones at them{mess angers}.And the messengers would just say Truly we have been sent on a mission to you.Our lord knows that we have been sent on a mission to you.And our duty is only to proclaim the clear message.

Ayah In Ayah Allah is saying, then came a man from the furthest city, saying O my people ! Obey the messengers.Obey those who ask no reward of you {themselves}.He also said it would not be right if I don’t Obey Allah, who created me and will take me back again when I die.And he said how could you follow other gods because if I did so my God would be very adverse angry with me as I would have made a big blunder.And I have faith in that gracious God so listen to me he went on.Adding to this he said that Gods mercy never ends you can ask for forgiveness whenever you want and remember Allah did not send the messengers against you people but truly to guide you.

Merits/Importance of Yaseen. This sura is ‘makki’ and has 83 verses.It is written in the commentary of ‘Majma-ul Bayan’ that whoever recites Sura Yaseen solely for seeking the pleasing of Allah, all his sins will be forgiven and he will be given the reward equal to the reward of reciting the whole Qur’an 12 times.If this Surah is recited near a person on his deathbed, then for each letter recited, 12 angels are sent to pray for his forgiveness and they remain even when the soul is being taken by the angel of death.The angels also take part in his funeral rites.
