Working together as one people, Kooris and other Australians hope to heal the wounds of history and build a society where all members are truly equal.

Retelling Australia is a beautiful country! But it’s different from China! For example, the weather is very interesting. In Brisbane, in the morning it’s very cold, in the afternoon it’s very hot, and in the evening it’s much colder! And it is very dry. If you stay in Brisbane, you

should drink water seven times one day! But the most wonderful things in Australia should be the animals and the food! There are sheep, kangaroos, dingoes, koalas, green tree frogs, wombats and so on! Of course the food in Australia is very delicious!

Just like Australian porridge, meat pie, chicken soup and so on! The houses there are not very tall, but very nice! They usually have dark red roof, white walls, and a big car park! The sky in Australia is always without any cloud! Just like Australian porridge, meat pie, chicken soup and so on! The houses there are not very tall, but very nice! They usually have dark red roof, white walls, and a big car park! The sky in Australia is always without any cloud!

Australia is a polite country with a small population! The people are very kind and very polite! They also have their own customs! They mind very much if you speak with your mouth full of food, and they also mind if you talk to somebody who is talking to another person!

Writing Wombat

The wombat lives in dry areas on the islands of Australia and Tasmania. It wears soft gray-brown fur and small pointed ears. It is the size of a pig and very solidly built and has very strong claws and short, strong legs to help in its digging. It has no natural enemies and can even survive smaller bush fires in its

underground burrow. Its diet consists of grass, roots, shoots and leaves. It emerges in late afternoon for eating in the evening and throughout the night. During the day they return to their burrows and go to sleep sometimes lying on their backs with their four feet sticking up in the air!

Writing on page 167 Sample: Curious about the land on the other side of Indian Ocean, I finally managed to cross into Australia on a great land bridge. in China. One strange animal lays eggs, yet feeds its young on its milk. Some animals give birth to very small and weak young. They are carried in a pocket of skin on stomach. There are also some dangerous snakes in the bush, so I had to be very careful.

It is hot and dry. In order to keep away from heat and have access to water, I found a place near an underground spring, where I built a shelter with tree branches and grass on the first day. Being hungry, I woke up very early the next morning and went out for food.

First, I had to make some tools to do some hunting. I made a sharp weapon with wood. I threw it at animals, birds or fish. I also gathered roots, nuts and wild fruits for food. I was accustomed to this new world soon and decided to settle down here. What a promised land!

Homework Review the whole unit. If you want to know more about Australia, you can use the Internet to find more information about it..
