Thank you for being such an awesome teacher! From Your Student, Jake

While you job title simply states that you are a teacher, you have been so much more. You've encouraged me to work my hardest, and because of that I've been able to do things I never thought I'd be able to do before. While many teachers teach out of the book, you do so much more. You're love of Science has helped me learn that there is more to chemistry than a Bunsen burner. A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning. Brad Henry

Science was never my favorite subject… I was always lost when the teachers would ramble on about things like long strands of DNA. I would rush through my homework, not seeing the point in any of it. I would jot down notes, and when the test came around, I would find myself understanding none of it. I would get so frustrated, and I used to dread having to go to that class every day. But then, I attended my first Chemistry class and met you. My rushed homework was simply unacceptable; you cared more that I knew what I was doing than anything else. You answered all of my seemingly endless questions, and never hesitated to stay after School to help me figure things out. Science went from being a struggle to something I enjoyed. Every day of class was a new adventure, and I looked forward to that more than anything else. In just the first few days with you as a teacher, Chemistry immediately became my favorite class.

An Endless Fountain of Opportunity Above all, you encouraged me to be creative throughout everything. You wanted me to see things differently, and seek new ways of arriving at answers. This had been the first time I had done a real lab, where I got to see things happen first hand, not in a text book. Not only did this help me grasp concepts, it made everything so much more fun. Above all, you were always smiling. You made our lab a positive environment that everyone wanted to be a part of. You constantly provided me with opportunities to learn new ideas, and for that, I will be forever grateful.

THANK YOU! I can not simply put into words how honored I am to have had you as a teacher. You've done so much for me that will greatly benefit me throughout the rest of high school and later on into my life. You've taken one of my least favorite subjects and turned it into one of my favorites. Being a teacher can be a tough job, but I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for everything you've done. The work you do every day positively impacts so many people, and I can only dream to one day to help people in the way that you do. The semester has gone by way too fast! But don't worry, I'll be sure to come back and visit!
