A.In the ad, the viewer is being persuaded to adopt a dog because they make good friends. During times of distress and sadness, dogs offer comfort to their owners. For example, the ad hyperbolizes this comfort by having the pug hand a tissue to its crying human. This illustrates the nature of dogs as confidantes who offer companionship during times of loneliness or comfort during times of sorrow, just as good friends do. B.The purpose of the ad is to persuade the viewer to adopt a dog because they make good friends.
