Received from Scarsdale, NY Caring and Compassion By Ananta In our community caring is very important. We all care about each other. There are many ways to show that we care. We are kind to people when they get hurt, we collect toys for kids less fortunate than us, and we also collect food and clothing for people less fortunate than us. You can also sell something like cookies, lemonade, handmade bracelets and magnets and send the money to a certain charity. We also might run a mile or ride our bike for a long distance to support a certain charity. Last year Ms. Marshall’s 4th grade class rode 13 miles for The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation [JDRF]. We raised over $7000. We rode on the Bronx River Parkway. Anyone can do something like this. We asked people to sponsor us. Sponsoring is when you are given a certain amount of money for doing something such as riding a bike or running a mile. After you have completed the task you send the money to a certain charity. These are all ways we show we care. It was very fun and it’s a way we show that we care.
From Slonin, Belarus 1. What does it mean to be caring and compassionate? To be caring and compassionate means to be concerning about other people's feelings and needs. It makes us aware of the suffering of others, and it allows us to feel their suffering or excitement. 2. How do we show that we are caring people? Caring is not just a way of feeling, it's a way of behaving. We show that we are caring people by treating people with kindness and generosity, being responsive to the concerns and needs of others, and being sensitive to people's feelings. 3. What children can do for a more caring world? 1. Children can participate in community service activities in their town that are opened to kids. 2. They can draw simple posters, write short stories, or act plays about helping poor and weak people. 3. Visiting orphans and charities. 4. Participating in parties and celebrations. 3. They collect money and buy clothes for poor students.
From Amman, Jordan Describe what you do to show that you care. 1. Children in our school participate in collecting olives from olives trees from the surroundings every year. They also help to clean surrounding environment. 2. They visit sick students at hospitals or in their houses. 3. They collect money and buy clothes for poor students.
Caring By Morgan and Emma E Friendship is really important in life. If you don’t have any friends in your life, you will be sooooooo lonely and bored. If you have a lot of friends or a really, really nice B.F.F, they will always care for you. Caring is like sharing, too. If you have a person that cares for you, does he/ she shares with you? Probably, they care for you. If you care for one person, and the other person cares for you, you will get closer and closer together. So, share with your friends be closer together. Also, help each other if your friend has a problem. So, make up with a friend and be nice to each other. That is what caring is about.
