Hieroglyphics Hieroglyphics are a form of ancient Egyptian writing who’s name means “sacred drawings” There are three kinds of hieroglyphics: Alphabetic, representing letter sounds Syllabic, representing letter group sounds Determinative, representing specific objects All of these are simplified to be easier to draw Scientists believe that hieroglyphics used to be a form of pictograms, but eventually led to standing for letter sounds.
