Presentation transcript:

What Did The Hopi Tribe Eat? The Hopi men grew corn and other vegetables to eat. The men learned how to use the rain to water the corn. The women had 50 different ways to make food out of corn. The men hunted a little, but mostly they were farmers. Hopi people only had meat about 2 to 3 times a year. Daniel, Hannah, Bryson, Kendra, Brendan

The Hopi Tribe lived in what is now Arizona and Colorado. Hopi women built the houses and they were called pueblos. The houses were made of stone and mud and they were 2 to 3 stories high. You could only get in the pueblos by climbing a ladder to the second story. Cody, Shelton, Andre, Clayton

What Type of Clothes did the Hopi People Wear? The Hopi people did not wear very many clothes because of the hot weather. The men wove the cloth for the women to sew. Most of their clothes were made from cotton that they grew. Hopi men wore short skirts and the women wore longer skirts. Savannah, Austin, Raena, Callie M., Wilkinz

Interesting Facts about the Hopi Tribe  The Hopi Indians may have come from Mexico about 500 B.C.  They were farmers, gatherers, and hunters.  The corn they grew was not yellow, it was blue and the ears were smaller than the ones we have today.  Women owned the houses and the land. Kassidi, Tripp, Callie D., Syiel, Hayley
