Burn test: Styrene/polyester resin spray application Test conducted in ~1983 near Portland, OR

2 Constructing spray booth.

3 Attaching resin feed line to spray gun. Blue hose is attached to overhead sprinkler.

4 Resin drum and pump (on truck), remote control for spray gun.

5 Start of resin spray. Spray will continue to allow accumulation of resin on floor and back wall. Duct in rear allows air flow.

6 Fire started in resin (overspray) using torch. (Photo shows reenactment of this step following test.)

7 Resin on booth floor burning…spray continues but does not burn.

8 Resin on booth floor burning…resin spray does not burn.
