AN INTRODUCTION TO: from the leading resource for education and information in the repair industry... TECHNICAL GUIDELINE S Guideline for Using In-Situ Tensile Pull-Off Tests to Evaluate Bond of Concrete Surface Materials ICRI Technical Guideline No Evaluation Formerly 03739

ICRI Guideline Evaluation Guideline for Using In-Situ Tensile Pull-Off Tests to Evaluate Bond of Concrete Surface Materials Purpose of This Guideline An essential tool for facility owners, concrete repair designers, contractors, and material manufacturers. It provides a recommended method of evaluating the tensile bond of cementitious and polymer concrete surface repairs using in-situ drilled core tensile pull-off tests.

ICRI Guideline Evaluation Guideline for Using In-Situ Tensile Pull-Off Tests to Evaluate Bond of Concrete Surface Materials Who is this guideline for? Anyone who wants a test to verify bond of a concrete repair, overlay, encasement or composite systems. Or anyone who needs a test method to evaluate the adhesive strength of bonding agents. Designers can use the test to determine suitability of a particular repair method or material. Contractors can use the test to verify the bond of an in-place repair. Manufactures can use the test to qualify a material for a particular use.

Guideline for Using In-Situ Tensile Pull- Off Tests to Evaluate Bond of Concrete Surface Materials What is covered? Purpose and need for testing in-place bond. Importance of bond to successful surface repairs Equipment and materials required to run the test The actual test procedure A recommendation for time and frequency of test on completed repairs Evaluation of test reports

Guideline for Using In-Situ Tensile Pull- Off Tests to Evaluate Bond of Concrete Surface Materials Benefits of Using This Guide… Provides contractors and manufacturers with a test method to quantify the bond of an in-place repair. Provides designers, specifiers and owners with acceptance criteria of in-place repairs. Provides information on possible causes for below minimum strength requirements.
