Three Assessments  Physical Fitness Testing (PFT) – 5 th Grade  California Standardized Test (CST) for Science - 5 th Grade  Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) – 3 rd – 6 th Grades

Physical Fitness Testing  Given to 5 th, 7 th, and 9 th graders  Aerobic Capacity – Mile Run – New formula to uses VO 2 max  Abdominal Strength and Endurance – Curl Ups  Upper Body Strength and Endurance – Push Ups  Body Composition – BMI, Skin Fold Test (Optional)  Trunk Extensor Strength and Flexibility – Trunk Lift  Flexibility – Sit and Reach, Shoulder Stretch

Sections  Computer Adaptive Tests (CATs)  Performance Tasks  Classroom activity frontloads student knowledge  Formal Task 

Question Types  Selected-response items prompt students to select one or more responses for a set of options.  Technology-enhanced items take advantage of computer-based administration to assess a deeper understanding of content and skills than would otherwise be possible with traditional item types.  Editing text or drawing an object.  Constructed-response items prompt students to produce a text or numerical response in order to collect evidence about their knowledge or understanding of a given assessment target.
