Presentation transcript:

Puppeteers Without Borders is an NGO staffed by trained professionals with over 20 years of experience. We are creating puppetry programs around the world to encourage communication and imagination while covering a range of complicated and sometimes difficult topics.

A puppet is matter which comes alive, an object which takes on life. It is this magic which allows it to captivate audiences of both children and adults…

A puppet can be rude, outspoken and truthful.

Through puppetry we can reach the outrageous, absurd and impossible.

A puppet can speak swiftly and directly

Our aim is to promote growth, change and conflict-resolution.

Our vision is to empower communities around the world to confront difficult issues through the magical art of puppetry.

Puppets enable to freely express what is sometimes hard to express

Puppets help practice alternative options of behavior

Puppets facilitate role play

A puppet becomes a model to identify with

Workshop with doctors working in the pediatric department of the Black Lion Hospital in Adis Abeba We use puppets in health education

Non Violent Communication

Bagnols sur Cèze, France: Preparing a performance with stories about Non- Violent- Comunications

; Folk Tales Fairy Tales and Metaphoric stories

Voices of the community

Therapeutic Puppetry

Cultural Diversity

AIDS /HIV prevention

We create training modules in health education, family planning, HIV/AIDS prevention, non-violent- communication, environmental topics, cultural diversity and human rights.

To do this we teach: Building puppets. Manipulation of the puppets. Writing scripts. Presenting puppets shows. Internship in the community.

Puppets as ICDP Ambassadors???? We offer to collaborate with ICDP in various ways: 1: To create training modules in puppetry specifically adapted to the ICDP program, for groups of ICDP trainers, so that caregivers will grasp easily and visually the principles of the program. 2: To create a video illustrating with puppets the 8 dialogues, so that the program can be easily and visually understood by agencies, financing companies, possible donors. 3: Accompany trainers in their work location, in order to add the aspect of puppetry in caregivers training.
