Acts as if he is crazy to secretly figure out if Claudius killed his father. Has actors put on a play that very closely resembles the murder of his father, to see if Claudius reacts. Accuses his mother for being a horrible wife to Late King Hamlet, and being lower than a beast. Wants to avenge his father… but also wants to gain his rightful place on the throne?
