BRAC Subcabinet Maryland Installation Movements  To date, 3385 federal civilian/military jobs have moved to Maryland.  To date, 5,300 indirect jobs have been created in Maryland and growing. Anne Arundel County example:  2009 – 11 New Companies located with 242 total New Employees/ 49 Expanding Companies with 1631 total New Employees  2010 – 9 New Companies with 433 total New Employees/ 21 Expanding Companies with 1658 New Employees. Successful in working with JBA to raise small business contracting goal to 50%!  GOMA/ TargetGov following contracting trends: in 2009, Maryland small, minority and women-owned firms were awarded $2.1 BILLION in prime contracts from the Department of Defense

BRAC Subcabinet Subcabinet Highlights: Infrastructure  Launched BRAC Match Program - will enable eligible BRAC homebuyers to receive $2,500 in down-payment and/or closing cost assistance  $100 million in mortgage loans through the Maryland Mortgage Program to homebuyers in the 10 counties that will be most impacted by the U.S. Military’s Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) activities  MacArthur Foundation Award - $4.5 million to preserve approximately 9,000 rental housing units over 10 years in BRAC impacted areas  Launched BRAC Match Program - will enable eligible BRAC homebuyers to receive $2,500 in down-payment and/or closing cost assistance  $100 million in mortgage loans through the Maryland Mortgage Program to homebuyers in the 10 counties that will be most impacted by the U.S. Military’s Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) activities  MacArthur Foundation Award - $4.5 million to preserve approximately 9,000 rental housing units over 10 years in BRAC impacted areas 19
