There are four types of people

The Prophetess Anna 36 Now there was one, Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was of a great age, and had lived with a husband seven years from her virginity; 37 and this woman was a widow of about eighty-four years, who did not depart from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day. 38 And coming in that instant she gave thanks to the Lord, and spoke of Him to all those who looked for redemption in Jerusalem. My supposition – 4 types of people 1.There are those who do not pay any attention to God 2.Those who have accepted Jesus, but prioritize life and this world over obedience to Christ 3.Those who come when they are called (asked, encouraged, pushed) 4.Those who wait, watch, listen, and are focused on what God will do next

Types one and two The first two are in a very dangerous position. Romans 10:9, Phil 2:11, 1 John 4:3, 2 John 1:7 Matthew 7:13-23 Luke 8:11-15

Type #3 - Simeon Simeon came when he was called He was obedient right away He held the Savior in his arms and saw Salvation with his own eyes God used him to speak prophetically to Joseph and Mary as to the purpose and role of their son This is a great place to be in the Lord!

Type #4 – Anna the Prophetess She was married for 7 years before becoming a widow She dedicated the balance of her life 84 years to the devotion of prayer and fasting When the temple was open, she was there When the temple was not, she was praying, interceding, and fasting

A special call 1 Tim 5:3-16 She had to deal with great adversity, and most probably poverty, to be that dedicated to the service of God God used her, not just to proclaim truth to Joseph and Mary, but to many (vs. 38)
