Mary’s father gets remarried to a widow named Mary Jane Calirmont.  September 12, 1801

Mary’s first poem is published  1807

Mary meets her future husband Percy. Four months later, they elope.  February 1814

Mary competes with her friends to see who can write the scariest story; thus Frankenstein is created.  May 1816

Mary and Percy Shelley get married  December 3, 1816

Frankenstein is published.  January 1, 1818

Mary gives birth to Percy Florence, the only one of her children to outlive her.  November 12, 1819

Percy Shelley drowns while sailing with a friend.  July 8, 1822
