pretense A pretense is something you do or say to make people believe something that is not true.

fanfare Fanfare is music or a showy display celebrating something important.

muted Muted colors and sounds are gentle and soft, not strong and bright. MUTED

secular If something is secular, it has nothing to do with religion.

callous If something is callous, it is thick skinned or insensitive.

reminisce When you reminisce, you think back on good things from the past that you miss.

adulation Adulation is a feeling of deep admiration or worship.

laudable If something is laudable, it is so good it deserves to be praised or rewarded.

emulate If you emulate someone, you try to be like that person because you admire him or her.

exemplify If you exemplify something, you are an outstanding example of it.
