Internship Work Sample Four main parts: –Unit Context (490) –Assessment Plan (490) –Design for Instruction –Analysis of Student Learning (490) Consider parts of a whole –Each has a description, task, and rubric –Each piece is a building block to subsequent tasks.

Internship Work Sample – A Moral/Ethical Engagement How does idea of the IWS relate to the purpose of the course? –Fosters moral/ethical leadership by examining and addressing the needs of the students/school/community. –Explores issues in education such as instruction and assessment; requires use of assessment data to guide instructional decisions. –Promotes reflective practice.

What have you been told you must never to do as a teacher? State your name and content area. Share “what not to do.” Reaching the Moral Heart of Teaching

Read the highlighted part of the article, “The Hope and Practice of Teaching.” Gather with Practical Art Group. Discuss and share with class: Summary of PA – What’s the advice? The “Do” instead of the “Don’t.” How does the PA reject the list of don’ts? How does the PA exemplify teaching as a moral enterprise? Reaching the Moral Heart of Teaching
