Welcome to our Coffee Morning October 9 th 2013

Today’s Plan Our School Values Why are they important? How do we help children get better with respect to the values? Our Reward System RRS Award Role of Governors Questions, ideas, feedback, next session?

Our School Values Collaborative; Creative; Resourceful; Resilient; Reflective;

Why are they important? With these attributes children will become lifelong learners ready to face and overcome any challenges ahead of them; Children will achieve highly in all respects including academically; These values are held high by higher education and by business and industry. ‘We invent, we collaborate, we challenge, we question, we achieve’. Twinings

How do we help children to improve their learning habits? We make them evident in our teaching; We demonstrate; We exemplify; We look to people who inspire us; We celebrate; We praise.

Reward System House Points are given to reward behaviours and to reinforce good learning habits; 30 house points = a certificate 3 certificates = a silver merit 6 certificates = a gold merit House Cup awarded most weeks and termly with final annual award.

Friday Celebration Worship Examples of way children have learned and exemplified school values;

RRS – level 2 Award

If parents want to give their children a gift, the best thing they can do is to teach their children to love challenges, be intrigued by mistakes, enjoy effort, and keep on learning. Carol Dweck
