BRONCHIAL THERMOPLASTY FOR ASTHMA Presented By Michael Simoff, Director, interventional Pulmonology and Bronchoscopy, Henry Ford Medical Center This is a new procedure being performed on patients that meet the criteria for the diagnosis of severe- persistent asthma. Heated energy is applied to that area to reduce the smooth muscle tissue constriction which in turn allows for easier breathing.
