It used to be normal to that we all lived together as an extended family and we took care of each other. Today we live more on our own and we don’t take that much care anymore. The Government of Holland want to change that. The history of Unpaid Care

 England & Wales 56 million inhabitants => 5.8 million Unpaid Carers (Source: BBC)  The Netherlands 16.8 million inhabitants=> 2.6 million Unpaid Carers  Unpaid Care can be an extra job Why?

 Government’s role is diminishing  A sick employee costs € 200,000 each year (Netherlands) Why?

 Employees keep them healthy  How?  Welfare, Insurance Companies ◦ Support the Unpaid Carers What’s next
