What is LiveBinder? Your 3 ring binder for the web. ✤ Collect your resources ✤ Organize them neatly and easily ✤ Share your resources with students, parents, and other teachers

Teacher uses: An online 3-ring binder that can be used to organize all of your educational resources. LiveBinders not only replaces the old 3-ring binder, but also opens up new opportunities for collaborating, organizing, and sharing. ✤ Substitute binders ★ Help your substitute be prepared by providing everything they need in one place. ✤ e-Portfolios ★ Help students showcase their work while sharing it with parents and potential schools. Give them the opportunity to reflect on everything they have learned and how they have grown ✤ Parent binders ★ Provide parents with resources to help their children learn. Package together links, worksheets, and curriculum information so that parents are both informed and engaged. ✤ Teaching tools ★ keep a binder of online mathematic exercises; ★ organize review videos on social studies and science material ★ collect PowerPoint® slides and Prezi® materials in a binder that students can access anywhere, at anytime ★ provide flip learning video material that the students can utilize from home and in the classroom

Sign-up Signing up for a LiveBinders account is fast and easy, just go to and sign up! ✤ Make sure that you complete the section that adds "LiveBinder It!" to your toolbar. If you forget, just look for the instructions in the tutorial on your Home page. ✤ If you do not want to add LiveBinder to your tool bar, the program will still function the same; you will just have to cut and paste URLs into your binder instead of merely dragging into the toolbar when you create a binder.

Getting Started ✤ 1. In the upper right hand corner click on "log in". Enter your login details in the window that pops up and press "log in." ✤ 2. Please view the “Your First Binder” at your leisure to view tutorials, tips, and tricks. ✤ 3. Locate the “Dashboard” on the left hand side of your log in screen. Maximize your dashboard menu by clicking the arrow. In the “Dashboard” click on "Start a Blank Binder" link. ✤ 4. Enter in the title, description, any tags, category, choose public or private/access key, and click "Create New Binder."

Binder Edit Screen ✤ The 8 boxes on the left hand side allow you to edit your binder through adding content, tabs, and subtabs. Here you can also save your binder, undo tasks, or change binder settings. ✤ The boxes on the right allow you to share your binder via social sites, , or web link. You can also change the way you view the binder with the view tab.

Tabs & Subtabs ✤ LiveBinders uses tabs and subtabs to help you organize your binder. ✤ Creating tabs for your binder before browsing the internet can be helpful for organization. This allows you to easily add sites to your binder under specific tabs. It makes keeping internet sites easy to find for future use. If you do not create tabs in you binder the Internet sites that you add will be added as their own tab. If you create tabs prior to browsing, the sites can be placed under the tabs as subtabs. Now it’s time to name your tabs! ✤ 1. Scroll over Tab 1 so that it is highlighted. ✤ 2. Type in the new name for your tab. Need More tabs? ✤ 1. Click the down arrow on any tab and select Add New Tab. ✤ 2. Type in the name for your tab. Creating subtabs! ✤ 1. Click the down arrow on any tab and select Add New Subtab. ** Clicking on the down arrow on any tab also allows you to.... ✤

Changing Text Layout & Adding Content ✤ 1. Click on the “Add Content” tab at the top of your page. ✤ 2. ✤ Here you can add a link, upload a file, add other content (YouTube) and set text layout.

Searching for other binders ✤ 1. On the livebinders home screen. Click on the “Featured Binders” tab at the top of your screen. ✤ 2. Here you can view featured binders or locate binders by subject and/or grade on the right hand side.
