 The staff at Central City Community Outreach (CCCO) is highly transient  In order to compensate for the loss of information that outflows with the transition of CCCO staff, a Program Protocol Binder will serve to: 1.) Keep staff on the same page 2.) Shorten adaptation period 3.) Safeguard valuable information

 The Program Protocol Binder will be given to new staff upon joining the program in order to give them a “head start” rather than learn protocol through trail and error.  Protocol will be written out and compiled in order to maximize information retention and allow for a physical reference source.  The Program Protocol Binder will be uploaded as a document onto the staff account so that modifications can be made easily as protocol changes and more efficient methods are executed  The Program Protocol Binder will be located in the CCCO Staff Office

Summer programming (June through September mentorships)  Summer programming officially begins the first full week that the students are out of school.  The key differences between the school year and summer lie in CCCO’s switch from an educational class room environment to offsite trips and from large class sizes to small groups with a mentorship focus.  Details: *HEART meetings are switched to 12:00 on Tuesday’s during the summer due to Monday at Grady’s - Weekly program is at the discretion of each individual teacher though some days are already set. (Say YES- Mon, Tues and Fri) (STAND-Mon, Wed and Fri)

 Say YES (K-5 th grade): -Monday- “Monday at Grady’s”- all the children and staff are driven by Union Rescue Mission to Grady’s house in Arleta for pool and cookout fun. Generally volunteer groups help out with Mondays- both in food provision and hanging out with the kids. Parents and family members are invited to Monday at Grady’s. -Tuesday- Inner City Arts (see Curriculum Planning below) -Friday- Gladys Park Day (see Curriculum Planning below)  STAND (6 th -12 th grade): -Monday- “Monday at Grady’s” -Wednesday- Art Day-- generally put on by Lisa Peacock or Levi -Friday- Field Trip Day  The days that are not already set, are considered one-on-one mentorship days. On these days staff is asked to take out one or two students and to individually hangout with them with the goal of establishing/ growing relationships.

 Summer programming must be planned in detail and turned in by the beginning of May. -This is essential so that summer budget can be set and the Summer Program Calendar can be distributed with time to the parents. (SEE SUMMER PROGRAM CALENDARS)  Summer Program generally runs from the hours of 12:00- 5:00 Monday-Friday. Arrival time and pick up time of the kids should be accounted for  Because the school bus no longer brings the kids to program in the summer, CCCO staff generally does pickups WHEN NECESSARY. Generally this responsibility is on the parents. Pickups do not have to be done every day but is encouraged as often as possible.

 Daily events include pool, beach, museums, hiking, apartment days, game days, picnics, going to the movies, metro trips, BE CREATIVE!!  Keep in mind that the number of kids attending the daily activities will be limited to the amount of space each teacher has in their car (and volunteer presence), as well as how many children each teacher can safely watch.  Child distribution can be done in several ways: different children each day of the week, a different group of children each week, etc.  Plan for lunch or snacks for the kids depending on the activity of the day Hint: Union Rescue Mission provides free lunches if you request them at the beginning of the week.
