Committees’ Decisions Summary Steering Committee – 9/20/12 The SC approved the Geospatial Platform multi-agency investment contributions through FY The SC also approved the Geospatial Platform governance structure, as laid out in the Business Plan. Coordination Group – 10/26/12 Vote Following the October 16 meeting, the CG voted electronically to endorse the changes to the Cultural Resources theme (see next slide). Executive Committee Meeting – 10/26/12 Meeting The ExCom recommends that the Steering Committee approve the proposed NGDA themes list, including the proposed change to Marine Utilities (utilities theme subject to future revision). CG Cultural Resources Vote The CG endorsed the following, in a vote closing on October 26 (20 affirmative votes, 13 non-responses, 0 negative votes): The dissolution of the Cultural and Demographic Statistics Subcommittee [note: this theme is being removed so the subcommittee is no longer needed]; A change to the Cultural Resources Working Group (which is currently under the Cultural and Demographic Statistics Subcommittee): the Working Group will become the "Cultural Resources Subcommittee" under the Cultural Resources Theme. 12 Contact: Arista Salimi Maher, FGDC OS, Read Aheads: none

CG and SC Monthly Membership Changes New CG Primary Member for DHS and CG Co- Chair (replacing Steve King, who has moved onto a new position at the National Defense University): Lew Summers, DHS Management Office. New CG Co-Chair Thanks to Steve King, DHS, for volunteering. Following his volunteering for CG Co-Chair, Steve accepted a new position as Associate Professor and Department of Homeland Security Chair at the Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy, so regrets that he must step down as CG Co-Chair/DHS Primary member. Executive Committee Last meeting: October 26 ExCom members discussed the A-16 Data Themes, including the Utilities Theme. ExCom recommended Steering Committee approval of the current NGDA Themes list, including the proposed change to Marine Utilities. (The Utilities Theme will be subject to future revision). ExCom was updated on the GAO evaluation, the recent activities of NGAC, and the recent activities on the Geospatial Platform. The Symbology Storefront proposal was discussed, and ExCom members notionally supported its integration into the Geospatial Platform, with the caveat that they may reevaluate support given new information about scope, schedule, transition plan, and costs of the initiative.
