The title page of a book, thesis or other written work is the page at or near the front which displays its title and author, usually together with information relating to the publication of the book. This is no longer synonymous with frontispiece in modern usage. (Title Page; Wikipedia Entry; _page)

A paragraph stating the contained documents are your work and asking potential interviewers to keep it confidential and un- plagiarized.

A cover letter or covering letter or motivation letter or motivational letter or letter of motivation is a letter of introduction attached to, or accompanying another document such as a r é sum é or curriculum vitae. (Cover Letter; Wikipedia Entry; er_Letter)

A self-worded description, usually one page in length, of one’s values in regards to oneself and the industry you are in (or are trying to enter).

A statement of one’s professional goals, ideally laying out the next two to five projected years.

Traditionally, the most basic form or career application, and a brief summary of one’s education background and experiences.

A list of people, along with letters of reference, who can verify one’s character, academic dedication, and/or employment ethic.

Letters, citations, membership cards, and bits and pieces referring to professional and social organizations to which one belongs.

A copy of one’s plan of study, classes, and grades (if possible) that lists courses have been taken to fulfill academic goals.

Material examples of past works, as well as works in progress: project lists, report documents, photographs, et cetera. Work samples show off one’s skills in their area of interest.

Expanding upon material examples of past works, probably in a separate binder, can further show off a person’s skills in a given area.

Making one’s own business card can give a potential employee a sense of professionalism. Blank sheets of cards can be used to create portable work samples, as well as personal branding.
