FRESNO STATE Solid Waste Diversion

New solid waste contractor - IWS Started stateside services in 2013 Completed a waste audit to confirm that food waste/non- recyclable material was < 10% Converted all stateside non-Ag trash services to 100% comingled recycling 100% comingled recycling goes to a “MURF” (Municipal Recycling Facility) operated by IWS (i.e. Cedar Ave Recycling & Transfer Station or “CARTS”). All waste is mechanically & CARTS to remove all recyclable material What is left landfill.

Solid Waste Data = Previous waste contract (separate trash & recycling bins) = May/2013 converted to single stream recycling (Stateside, non-Ag areas) 2014 = Single stream recycling continues (Stateside, non-Ag areas)
