Keeping track of assets is an intimidating task for larger companies. Tracking is essential financially, strategically and logistically. Large organizations may have many full time staff performing these tasks.

Common sense tells us that we should destroy all personal and private information stored in our tech assets before we release them. New laws specifically address this and in some cases may levy heavy fines when privacy is breached. Simply deleting data is not enough!! You must destroy it… Shredding drives is difficult, expensive and time consuming …there are alternatives that would ensure data destruction. How much does it cost to store and maintain your old technology assets? How much does it cost to maintain a current accurate inventory of old technology? How much does it cost when an old hard drive gives your competitors your private corporate information? How much does it cost to store and maintain your old technology assets? Depreciation of old technology is real. Not only is the depreciation realized financially, it’s usefulness depreciates as well. The longer you hold on to old technology the lower the return and higher the cost Storing it hoping someone will come and buy it is a dream. Depreciation of old technology is real. Time versus value for Computers and technology As time passes the value decreases while the cost increases

Asset Recovery is realizing money from old or idle assets. Technology assets for example loose much value initially, this levels off then begins a downward slope as newer faster more capable technology emerges. There several ways to recover value some ways include; donations, employee purchase, redeployment and outright sales. The problem is always the same… Cost Manpower Storage Security Logistics Turning this… Into this…
