My first vacation includes visiting three lovely towns. We first headed to Hastings, which was only about 41 miles from our home in Scandia. We then headed southeast 27.5 miles to the beautiful, historic Redwing. Our last stop was 46.2 miles west to Rochester, MN.

 My Fiancé and I left our home in Scandia, MN early Friday morning. (8:00 am.) We stopped at Perkins in Forest Lake and had coffee and breakfast. We then drove miles to Hastings, MN. We stopped and got gas before leaving Forest Lake. Once we arrived in Hastings, which was around 10:45 am, we went sight seeing in the downtown district and then had lunch at the Mississippi Belle and then went hiking at the Afton State Park. We checked into the Country Inn and Suites at 5 pm that evening. We had dinner at the Point Restaurant and then retired to bed for the night..

The Cost for Day One ?  Perkins Restaurant-$30  Gas-$41  Mississippi Belle Restaurant- $45  Country Inn & Suites-$139  Afton State Park-$10  Point Restaurant-$40  Total-$305

 Early Saturday morning, we had breakfast at the hotel and then drove 27.5 miles to the beautiful town of Red Wing, MN. We arrived at our hotel, the St James Hotel, at noon and had lunch in their restaurant, The Veranda. We then headed up to Barn’s Bluff for another of day of hiking. Our next stop was at the Schleich Red Wing Pottery Museum, and we ended the night at Jimmy’s Pub.

The Cost For Day Two?  Continental Breakfast-Free!!  Veranda-$60  Hotel Stay-$200  Jimmy’s Pub-$45  Barns Bluff-Free  Pottery Museum-Donation of $20  Total-$325

Our last day we spent in Rochester, MN. We got up early Sunday Morning, left the hotel and headed 46 miles westward. We needed gas again, along with breakfast. We stopped at a Caribou on the way, and then did some shopping at the University Square in Rochester. We had a late lunch at Zorbas and at 5 pm headed back home to Scandia. Caribou-$9.10 Shopping & Dining-$150 Gas-$20 Total-$179.10

What was the overall cost of this trip?  Overall the costs were:  Day One-$305  Day Two-$325  Day Three-$  Total of entire trip-  $ This was an exciting trip, That I would definitely take again!!
